    We are pleased to announce the addition of our new “alert” messaging capabilities for AttendancePro (Attendance Management System). The purpose of the new “alert” messaging is to assist customers in staying compliant with the requirements of the new Labor Reform Act (“Hatarakikata-Kaikaku”) which became effective on April 1, 2019. We trust that these new reminders will assist customers in better managing their employee well-being in concert with previously added new reporting functions.

    2. Summary of New Functionality The following is a brief summary of the six new “alert” messaging functions.
    ● Alert messages for the total number of months per year for those employees whose overtime hours exceed 45 hours. This is an alert message for the total number of applicable months. An alert message will be sent when the total number of months reaches the annual target for those employees whose overtime hours exceed 45 hours.
    ● Alert for the total hours of monthly overtime and work on holidays. This is an alert function for the total hours. An alert message will be sent when the monthly total hours of overtime and work on holidays exceeds the monthly target.
    ● Alert message for annual overtime target hours. This is an alert message for the target hours when the overtime total hours and work on holidays exceeds the set annual target.
    ● Alert for the monthly average hours for 2 to 6 months of overtime totals and work on holidays. This is an alert message for the average target hours. An alert message will be sent when the average hours for 2 to 6 months overtime totals and work on holidays exceeds the set target.
    ● Alert message when annual leaves used is less than 5 days. By setting the annual leave grant date, elapsed days, and the target used days of annual leaves, an alert message will be sent when the days used are less than the target used days within the set elapsed days.
    ● Interval alerts. The “interval” alert message will be sent when the actual interval hours are less than the target hours.

    Japan Era Name Change:
    The abdication of Emperor Akihito was announced on April 1, 2019 and will become effective on May 1, 2019. An era name called “gengo” is used for the length of an emperor's reign. The current Heisei era started on January 8, 1989, the day after Emperor Hirohito passed away. However, for Reiwa, the government decided that the era name should be disclosed a month prior to the imperial succession for the sake of computer system updates.

    Effective Date:

    The change of era name will commence on May 1, 2019.

    Following the change of era name, CVi’s PayrollPro (payroll calculation system) will support the following;

    ● PayrollPro support for the new era name, “Reiwa.”
    ● The era name will be displayed on PayrollPro’s user interface & reports using “Reiwa” and will be ready by May 1, 2019.
    ● There are no actions required by clients.

    We are excited to announce the release of our AttendancePro (attendance management system) which is fully compliant with the upcoming Japanese Labor Reform law covering wide-ranging regulatory constraints under the Labor Reform Act (“hatarakikata-kaikaku”), effective April 1, 2019. This new Japanese law significantly tightens rules on the handling of employee data as well as dramatically strengthens the protection afforded to employees in relation to entitlements to overtime, vacations, allowable minimum hours between work periods etc.

    2. Summary of New Functionality The four new functional additions cover the “Article 36 Agreement” report; the “Annual Leave Requirement” report; the “Annual Leave Management report; and the “Interval” report.
    ● Article 36 Agreement report
    This function allows companies to review whether their actual employee overtime is within the limits submitted by the company under their “Article 36 Agreement.”
    ● Annual Leave Requirement report
    This “Annual Leave Requirement” report allows companies to monitor the status of annual leave and whether an employee has taken 5 days in a year or not.
    ● Annual Leave Management report
    The “annual leave management” report covers the historical amount of annual leave taken and the amount remaining.
    ● Interval report
    The “interval” report measures the interval between the end of the previous work hour and the start of the new work hour for the following work day.

    ※Enhancement of alert functions and a one-step granting function for annual leave for all employees will be covered under a new release planned for June of 2019.
